HELLO…to all our neighbors in the Corona Highlands Property Owners Association!
Please visit our community’s website at coronahighlands.org for all the information you need about our Association: member directory, events, news, annual meetings, by-laws, links to pay membership dues and our community map.
Annual Dues:
As a reminder, annual membership dues should be submitted by January 31st every year. If you have not submitted your dues yet, please submit a $150 check, payable to CHPOA (mail to CHPOA P.O. Box 415, Corona del Mar, CA 92625) or log into our website, coronahighlands.org, and click on the “Pay Membership Dues” icon and pay using our Pay-Pal account. You do not need a Pay-Pal account to pay dues, just use your credit card on our secured site.
Our dues of $150 are quite modest when compared to other HOA’s, which can be in the hundreds or thousands of dollars, and be assured our Board of Directors, whose members serve without compensation, are vigilant in controlling expenses.
We hear sometimes, “Why should I pay $150. What does the Association do for me?” As a reminder, your dues directly contribute to the betterment of our community. Specifically, these funds are used to pay for things like: maintenance of and access to the privately gated beach, general liability insurance, general legal fees, tax preparation and filing, conducting architectural committee reviews, publishing the directory of CHPOA members, coordinating with local government and Corona del Mar Residents Assoc., and last but not least, hosting our annual Summer BBQ. All administered by VOLUNTEERS! We strongly encourage all neighbors to participate and pitch in their share of our community’s expenses.
If interested in volunteering or joining our board, please contact us at: info@coronahighlands.org.
Beach Keys:
Per the original by-laws, to be eligible for future beach keys, annual dues in arrears are required to be brought current. Lost beach key cost for members is $150. Non paying neighbors’ cost for a beach keys is $500. Please note that we are presently negotiating a possible increase in beach maintenance fees with Shore Cliffs (their community’s membership dues are mandatory and is many times ours). They may soon be raising our annual cost of maintaining beach access. We will keep you posted.
Selling your home in our Community?
If you really have to leave our beautiful neighborhood and plan to sell your home, please pass on the information about our CHPOA to your realtor or escrow company so that we may welcome new property owners into our Association and include them in our directory.
Architectural Review:
It’s wonderful to see all the beautification happening in our neighborhood. Just a friendly reminder to please be a good neighbor and adhere to all CC&R’s and updated Architectural Guidelines when planning your remodel. You can submit your plans right through our website. E-mail any questions about your plans or submissions to chpoa.arc@gmail.com.
CC&Rs and Updated Architectural Guidelines:
Members log in to our website at coronahighlands.org or email info@coronahighlands.org for copies.
Website Information and Passwords:
Our website is available to all to see, however, our CHPOA directory, rules, guidelines, and payment access is member password protected. Members, who have given us their e-mail address, were given a password when the site launched in 2021. If you didn’t receive this password, please contact us at info@coronahighlands.org; we can help.
On the website, you have the ability to change your password on the “My Account” page. Lost or forgotten passwords can be recovered through the “Lost Your Password” link on the log in page. To change your password just go to “Accounts” on the log in page and follow the directions.
Parking and Driving In our Neighborhood:
We would be remiss if we did not mention to please be mindful of your neighbors when parking and driving in our neighborhood. We have received complaints about parked cars blocking driveways and speeding cars on our roads. Our community does not have sidewalks so we all must share the road. We ask that you please keep the speed down so neighbors do not call the city to install speed bumps and your car or your visitor’s car is not towed by your neighbor who has lost access to their driveway.
Last note…Enjoy our beautiful neighborhood this summer and see you all at our Annual BBQ in September (info will follow)!
